DAY 2, Sunday, June 24, 2007 – Upon arrival in London Gatwick we will meet our tour escort and board our motorcoach.  Our pilgrimage begins as we travel through the scenic English countryside to Canterbury.  The afternoon we will be free to explore this medieval city on our own in small groups with chaperones before traveling to Herne Bay where we will meet our host families, our home for the next two nights – a time to see and experience how English families live.  We will enjoy dinner with our host families. BD

DAY 3, Monday, June 25, 2007 – Today we will visit Canterbury Cathedral where we will learn about the history and spirituality of the Cathedral and the concept and practice of Pilgrimage.  We will also tour the Cathedral focusing on Pilgrimage, including a short meditation on the theme "Journey Inward, Journey Outward".  We will then attend a candlelit short Taize style service at the nearby ancient parish church of St. Martins.  In the evening we will attend Evensong at the Cathedral.  We will return to our host family for homes for dinner and overnight. BD

DAY 4, Tuesday, June 26, 2007 – This morning we say “goodbye” to our host families and travel to Sussex Beach to explore the sea shore, watch birds and have time to reflect.  We will then travel on to Taunton. BD

DAY 5, Wednesday, June 27, 2007 – This morning we will enjoy a walking tour of Salisbury visiting the Salisbury Cathedral.  The Cathedral is famous for its Close, the largest in England, and its spire the tallest in England.  We visit the medieval layout of squares around the cathedral, enjoying the spacious lawns, trees and old houses.  The Cathedral was consecrated in 1258 and was begun by Bishop Poore in 1220.  This afternoon we will visit Winchester Cathedral, the largest medieval church in Europe, with a rich interior, magnificent stalls, and fascinating crypts.  We see the 14th century Pilgrims Hall, next to the Pilgrims School.  Pilgrims would start their journey here and finally reach Canterbury at the end of their long walk.  We return to Taunton for dinner and overnight.
